Memorable Saturday....

The day that I looked forward to was finally here! Yay!!!

The first activity for the day was the WSC Family Day event. Went down with ZC to setup the stalls and decoration while waiting for the others to come. Had fun while setting up the game stalls cos need to test out the games ourselves (like using chopstick to pick up marbles, basketball, chateks, basketball, etc...). Glad to see that the boys and their families enjoyed the games as much as we had prepared for them. Really wanted to stay throughout but got to go back to NTU to submit the cover letter and resume... sigh... Was a bit late when I reached NTU. Thought I can just save and go but the "Aunty" in charge of our class was simply too efficient and delicate cos she can only mono-task and focus only on 1 person at a time... By the time she came over to our side with the thumbdrive, it was already closed to 4pm! She took nearly 2 hours just to come over just to check and let us to save our work, win liao lor!!! Luckily got Fu Yi and Marke in the class to chat with or else it would really be dead boring (literally!). Think Marke waited until he almost explored cos he almost froze to death (he was sitting under the air-con).

Marke & I managed to submit our work together and we left to hunt for Ling. Think she waited until the flower also withered liao cos she was the first one to finish (she was in another class). Passed by Da Ren's class and decided to go in to check out on him. Wanted to talk to him but then I realized that (too late already) that his instructor was sitting next to him! Think I disturbed her one-to-one personal coaching with Da Ran cos she was giving me the "不爽" stare... gulp... so quickly exit the room... :p
Couldn't find Ling (she was too well camouflaged in FAL) so Marke and I went to Basement 5 to de-froze and also to buy a cup of kopi. Marke went home first to get his car while I waited for Da Ren and Ling to come. Was glad to see Fu Yi and Jacklyn joining us for our outing (was a bit "malu" cos didn't know Jac is also in our Investment class... Pai say.... :p). Had a good time gossiping (like those kind of “A likes B but B prefers C but C loves D” complicated triangle relationships), laughing and “suan-ing” one another during our journey to Orchard.

Reached Orchard Shaw Tower around 530pm so decided to have an early dinner to beat the crowd. Da Ren had a hunger strike so he ordered a cheeseburger to ease his gastric while we were discussing where to eat. Decided to head for the Thai restaurant that Da Ren recommended @ Far East Plaza (think Da Ren knows where all the good eating places are cos he recommended quite a number of nice places like one Jap restaurant at Shaw Tower level 5).

When we reached Far East, the Thai restaurant seemed no longer there so we had chicken rice for dinner instead. The chicken rice was really was much better and sumptuous than school’s. Fu Yi couldn’t finish her share as she had chicken rice for lunch earlier so she was like “闻鸡色变”, so Da Ren helped her to finish half of her portion. While having dinner, noticed a couple of interesting things: All the gals preferred roasted chicken rice whereas the guys all ordered Hainanese chicken rice. All the gals used their left hand to hold the spoon (they are all right-handed) whereas the guys used their right hand, interesting rite? Haha….
Think we ate too fast so had to wait a while for LOL (the initial LOL is used to protect the innocent cos it is not her fault but ours as we ate too fast, haha… :p)

{Off track a bit: Groupies think next time we can try something unique for dessert. Read from the Sunday Times that they recommended an eatery @ Far East that sells Fried Mars Chocolate. The shop name is British Chippy located at B01-16c}

Decided to walk around first before we had our dessert, so we strolled all the way to Hereens. Da Ren is really a thoughtful & caring fren cos he noticed that Marke was feeling down (over something which the insensitive me later then realized wat it is…) so he wanted to buy him a little Initial D plush toy to cheer him up. Ling said Marke’s birthday is around the corner so we decided to chip in and buy him an early birthday gift to surprise him. Got Ling to distract Marke while Da Ren and I were deciding wat to buy for him but our plot was soon exposed cos Marke noticed that we were acting “suspiciously”. :p
In the end , we got Marke a mini remote control-cum-display Initial D car and the little cute plush toy car for Marke to hang in his car.

Decided to U-turn back to Takashimaya’s Coffee Club for dessert as Ling & Da Ren strongly recommended the fabulous Mud Pie (now it is also my fav dessert ^_^v). Was too spolit for choices so we decided that each one of us would order something different to have a variety to sample around. We ordered a strawberry Romanoff (me), strawberry shortcake (Jac), tiramisu mud pie (Da Ren), tiramisu al café (Marke) and 2 fabulous mud pies (Fu Yi & Ling)! Think Fu Yi got a shock to see such a huge portion, haha…

Really had fun taking photos and video clips. The most wacky and fun ones were the 1, 2, 5 & 10 poses. Fu Yi, as usual, is our Groupie photographer (cos she also took our group presentation photo too. Think can appoint her as our official photographer le, haha…). Too bad Marke got an appointment, so he got to leave early. Marke was a bit “sneaky” cos he said he wanted to go to the washroom but when he came back, we noticed he was at the counter; only then we realized that he went to pay for the bill cos he wanted to treat us. Thanks a lot for the treat Mark! =)
After Marke left, we continued with our wacky photo and video sessions, posing in all kinds of poses and even acted as ah beng, ah lian, pair of jap couple, gang fight, etc. Really enjoyed ourselves a lot.

Went to walk around the Taka Square before we went home. Got to see a huge varieties of mooncakes, yummy…. Was chatting away with Da Ren, then realized that both of us has a weak spot for all things red beans, haha…. Actually wanted to go over to Selegie to try the red bean dumpling recommended by Da Ren but the gals were tired so we decided to go another day and call it a day.

Really enjoyed myself a lot that night. Think it was really a long time that I had such fun with a group of kakis. Thanks for the memorable experience; it would definitely be part of my memory on NTU… Really appreciate and feel honoured to know you guys/gals as frens…really cherish this frenship and hope our friendship will continue to blossom. ^_^v
